OUR INTERIOR PAINTING PROCESS

Here's what you can expect from our interior painting process:

  • You can feel secure that we take all the precautions possible to protect your home while we work. Our team wears booties on their feet to keep your floors clean.

  • The first phase involves moving and protecting the furniture. We cover furniture and flooring with heavy-duty painter’s plastic. Mover's plastic is also taped at the bottom to secure it, but not directly to the furnishings to prevent potential damage.

  • As a general rule, furniture is moved to the center of the room, clearing a 4-foot space between the furniture and the walls being painted. We also implement felt movers to relocate heavy furniture on hardwood floors and sliders to safeguard your carpet. You are invited and encouraged to take pictures if these guidelines still need to be met and share them with the production manager.

  • We cover every inch of the flooring with a drop cloth so that our painters do not track paint onto any floor in your home. No bare floor should be visible in the room that we paint.

  • When painting the kitchen ceiling, cabinets, countertops, and appliances will be covered by painter's plastic. When painting the bathroom, toilets, vanities, counters, and showers are covered in plastic and secured with painter's tape.

  • We inspect for wall damage and repair needs before painting. This means locating and dealing with every type of blemish, including nail pops, holes, cracks, and more. This inspection and preparation include crown moldings and similar decor details. Flaws are circled for easy identification by the contractor taking care of repairs.

  • Outlet covers and switch plate covers are removed and stored in the bucket designated for that particular room to prevent fixtures from one room from transitioning into another.

  • Wall surfaces are sanded down; no dust will be left behind. We do not paint dust into walls; we remove dust lingering on plastic and other areas to prevent it from ending in the paint. The crew manager then inspects every room upon completion.

  • We start with painting the ceiling first, when applicable, then the trim, and finally the walls. Upon completion, the crew manager carefully inspects every room before being considered finished. Once the entire job is done, we complete an extensive cleanup.

  • The cleanup consists of using a shop vac to get into crevices, a dust bag to trap otherwise airborne contaminants, and swiffering hardwood floors. The end goal is to leave the area cleaner than we found it. This includes replacing wall outlet covers, removing painter's plastic, and collecting drop clothes.

  • Upon cleaning, we will then move the furniture back into place. Using photos taken before the job began, we will place each item in its proper location. The van is packed so that nothing is left behind, and a manager once again checks the work before leaving the premises.

OUR EXTERIOR PAINTING PROCESS

  • We take all the necessary precautions to protect the exterior of your home and property while we work.

  • The first phase involves moving any outdoor furniture and covering any shrubs and plants around the perimeter of your home. We cover surfaces not being painted with heavy-duty painter’s plastic. Windows are also covered.

  • We inspect for damage and repair needs before painting. This means locating and dealing with every type of blemish, including nail pops, holes, cracks, and more. These will be circled for easy identification by the contractor taking care of repairs. This inspection and preparation include the trim, facia, and soffits.

  • Outlet and switch plate covers are removed and stored in the bucket designated for that particular area of the home’s exterior.

  • Surfaces are sanded down; no dust will be left behind. We remove dust lingering on coverings and other areas to prevent it from getting in the paint. Each surface is inspected upon completion by the crew manager.

  • We paint the facia, soffits, trim, and finally, the walls. Upon completion, the crew manager thoroughly inspects the exterior before being considered finished. Once your painting has been approved and meets your satisfaction, we conduct the extensive cleanup.

  • The cleanup consists of using a shop vac to get into crevices, a dust bag to trap otherwise airborne contaminants, and sweeping hard surfaces. The end goal is to leave the area cleaner than we found it. This includes replacing outlet covers, removing painter's plastic, and collecting drop clothes.

  • Upon cleaning, we will then move any furniture back into place. Using photos taken before the job began, we will place each item in its proper location. The van is packed so that nothing is left behind, and a manager checks the work one last time before leaving the premises.
